Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Parts Manager to oversee the parts department of our diesel truck shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in parts inventory management, vendor relations, and diesel truck components. This position is critical to maintaining efficient shop operations by ensuring that parts are readily available to support maintenance and repair activities.
responsibilites
- Manage the daily operations of the parts department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing parts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular audits.
- Source and order diesel truck parts from vendors and suppliers at the best possible pricing.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of parts.
- Assist technicians in locating and ordering parts as needed.
- Monitor stock levels and generate purchase orders to replenish inventory.
- Track special orders and back-ordered items to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Maintain organized storage systems for parts and tools.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Support warranty and return processes as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Order tires based on application, vehicle specs, and maintenance requirements.
- Manage ordering and inventory of all shop consumables including oils, greases, coolants, and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid).
- Coordinate disposal of used oils and fluids in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Work with vendors to ensure the shop is always stocked with the correct types and quantities of fluids and lubricants.
REquirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a parts department is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, truck systems, and aftermarket parts.
- Proficient with inventory management software and Google Workspace.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
