The majority of our fleet consists of Peterbilt Trucks. We have also invested in alternative fueling sources for our commercial vehicles. Currently about 40% of our fleet runs on Compressed Natural Gas!

About the Job:

Diesel Technician is responsible for repair and maintenance of diesel equipment used in Ready Mix Operations. Related equipment includes, engine, hydraulics, electronics, Tier 4Systems and fuel systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and be able to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment and problems.

Salary Range. The base hourly range for this role is between $30.00- $35.00 per hour. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package.  When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

responsibilites

·      knowledge to diagnose andrepair diesel engines and related equipment including air systems, oilanalysis, cooling system.

·      Excellent troubleshooting skills.

·      Troubleshooting of fuelsystem including ability to perform diagnostic test with manufacturer software.

·      Test and rebuild various types hydraulic equipment.

·      Disassemble & assemble wheel loader axle.

·      Perform advanced troubleshooting & diagnosing circuit faults.

·      Remove and Install aPressure Sensor on EUI Engine.

·      Perform troubleshooting & diagnosing circuit faults.

·      Advanced troubleshooting forentire fuel system.

·      Disassemble & assemble pumps & lines for the fuel system.

·      Ability to properly troubleshoot Tier 4 Systems.

·      Testing, repair andrepair/replace Common Rail Fuel System Engine.

·      Remove and Install a HighPressure Fuel Pump.

·      Strong communication and teamwork skills.

·      Perform routine maintenanceon diesel equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluidchecks.

·      Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems.

·      Inspect diesel equipment andrelated equipment for safety and compliance issues.

·      Keep up-to-date on thelatest diesel equipment technology.

·      Work independently and aspart of a team.

·      Follow all safety proceduresand regulations.

Other Requirements:

·      Willing to travel to alllocations within geographic area.

·      Must be willing to workovertime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must beable to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

·      Valid driver's license.

Qualifications

SkillsYou'll Need:

Education:

·      High School diploma orequivalent required.

·      Previous experience workingon diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred. 

·      Additional vocational/tradeschool training in a mechanical field is also preferred.

Experience:

·      Able to perform allfunctions on Superior Ready Mix's equipment management software.

·      Previous experience workingon diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred. Understanding of basicelectrical, powertrain and hydraulic knowledge, moderate usage of CAT SIS and EMSprocesses.

·      Knowledge of generalprinciples and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment required.

·      Previous experience workingon diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.

·      Equipment knowledge onengines, hydraulics, electronics, Tier 4 Systems and fuel systems.

·      Advanced understanding ofbasic electrical, powertrain and hydraulic knowledge, moderate usage of CAT SISand EMS processes.

·      Previous experience with CATSIS or ET programs highly desired.

·      Knowledge of generalprinciples and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment required.

·      Experience with aggregateequipment a plus.
