ASPHALT PLANT MAINTENANCE LEAD
Manage, mentor, and lead maintenance teams at two San Diego County hot mix asphalt plants to ensure all day to day maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects are completed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
responsibilites
Work closely with the Asphalt Production Manager to make sure all maintenance is being completed and documented properly.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure each location operates at optimal effectiveness and efficiency.
Build and maintain safety and health culture, as well as compliance of company, regulatory and environmental regulations.
Manage and develop an effective maintenance program to ensure assets are maintained, critical spare parts are inventoried.
Maintain consistent line of communication with Operations Manager and Plant Operators to ensure plant efficiencies, maintenance and repairs.
Direct maintenance teams to complete daily tasks, repairs and maintenance, scheduling and time management practices.
Ensure daily service requirements are completed ofthe asphalt plant for preventative maintenance issues
Fabricate and repair to hoppers and conveyors. i.e. bearing replacement, drive systems, change screen cloths,structural fabrication
Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance problems toensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
General maintenance of various pumps, electrical requirements, and wear prevention of equipment
Operate mobile equipment including front-end loaders, Manlifts and Forklifts
Other duties as assigned
REquirements
Ability to work under pressure
Be available for overtime, extended hours, night work, and weekend work as required for timely project completion
Work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift 95 lbs.infrequently, 50 lbs. frequently, and climb ladders/stairs up to 90'
Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand, welding, and cutting tools
5+ years’ experience in asphalt plant operations is preferred
Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment and understanding of operations and safety requirements for the equipment
Experience in welding and fabrication
Experience with electrical troubleshooting
Understanding of the type and quality of material being produced
Familiar with OSHA and MSHA regulations
